Fontainebleau-finaly:)

In a few days we’re going to Font. I heard so much about this place but never been there. I can’t wait! It’ll be good to spend some time climbing outside after all the gym training. However, things are going well. A week ago we spend 3 days training with the Swiss team. They really have good training conditions. Those climbing centers are amazing, it all even made me a little jalous. But it doesn’t metter. Even if you have the best wall to train in the world it doesn’t make you the best climber. There’s still that psyche and stubbourness that makes the slovenian climbers so badass :) Ok, I go pack my bags for Font!

December – time to have fun without climbing

One week after the last world cup in Kranj I put my climbing shoes away for more then a month. I needed a break from everything so I can start the new season fresh, psyched and full of energy. After a few days of resting I’ve already started to miss climbing but luckily we had some snow so I put my extra energy into skiing and other winter sports. I love spending winter days in Davča. Anže’s family has an old house there where we can escape from civilization…no phones, no internet, just good company, a guitar, mulled wine and funny games. During the day it’s perfect for skiing and hiking but it can get really really cold…ask Roxy :) .

December is also a time for giving presents to each other. This year we decided we won’t go shopping and instead we (Katja, Saša and I) baked all kinds of cookies. After the initial confusion we’ve done a great job, everybody loved our Christmas presents!

Sleeping after parties, skiing, spending time with friends I don’t usually have time to hang out with during the season and December was over. It was nice and fun, but I can’t wait for the next season to begin. I already started with my first training sessions, it’s hard but I love it!

My sister Katja stopped competing for a while but that doesn’t mean she stopped climbing. Just the opposite. She’s been traveling and bouldering around and that’s the way to live right? I think she’s going to Swiss tomorrow… Well, I’m sure she’ll keep us posted on her blog.

Briancon…last post…this writing thing is not going well for me lately. Just like my whole season. My goals and my hopes for this year were much higher, but somehow it didn’t work out as I expected. Now it’s over and I will try to forget it as soon as possible. Next year I have a chance for a fresh start and I can’t wait to start training, go rock climbing and then for competitions to begin. The next year’s competiton calendar looks pretty busy.

What was happening after Briancon? I even took two days off to go at sea side, but we (me and Anže) end up searching for one particular beach spot (a very cool one according to Tjaša). So at the end we had a few hours of swimming and sunbathing. The good thing about all this was that we taught Roxy how to swim:).

At the end of Aughust we had a short Asia tour. The first competition was in Xining where I didn’t get to the finals. I was pretty disapointed but I knew that I was in a good shape and that I could prove it a few days later in South Korea. I got to the finals but my performance there was poor.

Back home I was training for the European Championship and trying to keep positive thoughts in my head. Once again it didn’t work out, after the semi finals I was out of the game for the title. Just one week later we were on the way to Puurs. I really like this competition since I won two times, but this year it was just enough for the finals and nothing more.

Another trip to far east was next. The world cup competition for me ended in this year’s style and after that I stayed in China for the Masters which was super organized and I enjoyed it a lot!

When I look back now. I won’t remember this year’s competitions by the results but we really had a good time and some moments were those which stay in your head for a long time.

As usual the world cup got its conclusion in Kranj. I wasn’t looking forward to it, I didn’t  have any expectations and in my head I was already somewhere else. So I took the whole thing easily, trying not to worry too much and after getting rid of all the pressure I even enjoyed it! I was relaxed and I climbed really good ’till I made a mistake in the finals choosing the wrong sequence of the moves. Far from the podium again but still…after a long time I enjoyed climbing competition’s routes again.

With this finals I ended my season. Instead of looking at the trophies I will remember it by the many places we travelled to, the stupid and funny things that happened on the way and even some cool parties we had after the serious part of a competition was over :)
